Harvesting

White Oak, Red Oak, Burr Oak and Ironwood trees provide campfire wood and dimensional lumber through selective harvesting and attrition.

Forest Bathing

Forest bathing encourages a deeper connection with the natural world. This profound sense of belonging can cultivate a greater appreciation for the environment and inspire stewardship; preserving the land for future generations.

The simple method of being calm and quiet amongst the trees and observing nature while breathing deeply, can help both adults and children de-stress and boost their health and wellbeing in a natural way.

Counseling and Therapy

There is growing medical evidence that immersing oneself in a forest environment can have significant physical and mental health benefits. These sometimes intangible benefits can be greatly augmented by the inclusion of additional Therapy or Counseling in such an environment.

Surly Acres gladly acts as host to Ecumenical, Psychological and other Therapeutic gatherings under the direction of qualified practitioners. Many of these sessions are uniquely geared to currently serving or former law enforcement professionals. These private meetings offer discrete, personal interactions in a supportive environment free from the distractions of modern life.

Off Season and after dark
